Take It Down: Nonconsensual Intimate Imagery Removal

Effective date: September 23, 2026

Any person may use this process to request removal of an intimate visual depiction of them that was published without their consent. This includes certain real images or videos and “digital forgeries” created or materially altered with AI or other technology. You do not need a CinemaDrop account to submit a request.

What a Valid Request Must Include

Your written request must include:

1. Your physical or electronic signature. Typing your full legal name at the end of the email may serve as an electronic signature.
2. Identification and location of the depiction. Provide information reasonably sufficient for us to identify and locate each image or video, such as its exact URL, public profile, asset identifier, or username.
3. A brief good-faith statement. State that you have a good-faith belief the intimate visual depiction was published without the consent of the person depicted, and include relevant information supporting that statement.
4. Contact information. Provide information reasonably sufficient for us to contact you, such as your full name and email address.

Also state whether you are the person depicted or are legally authorized to act for that person. If you are submitting for someone else, describe your authority. We may request limited additional information when reasonably necessary to confirm identity, authority, or locate the material. Do not send government identification unless we ask for it through an appropriate method.

What We Will Do

We will acknowledge receipt of a request and review it promptly. For a valid request covered by the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act, we will remove the identified depiction as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receiving the valid request. We will also make reasonable efforts to identify and remove known identical copies from the Services and will notify you when action has been taken.

If information required for a valid request is missing, we may ask you to complete it. The 48-hour period begins when we receive a valid request containing the required information. Removal from our Services may not remove copies controlled by other websites, users, search engines, or devices. You may need to contact those services separately.

Privacy, Preservation, and Good-Faith Use

We use request information to verify, locate, remove, document, and prevent reappearance of the material; communicate with you; protect affected people; and comply with law. We limit access to people and providers who need it for those purposes, but may preserve and disclose relevant records where required by law, needed to protect safety, or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. Submit requests only in good faith. Do not impersonate an affected person or knowingly provide false information. We may take appropriate action concerning fraudulent or abusive submissions.

Additional Help

• Immediate danger: contact local emergency services.
• A person under 18: do not download or redistribute the material. Report suspected child sexual exploitation to the NCMEC CyberTipline. NCMEC also offers the Take It Down hash-based tool for images taken when a person was under 18.
• An adult depicted: StopNCII.org offers a hash-based tool that may help participating platforms detect intimate images without uploading the image itself.
